How to add simple “Install Web part” menu to right click on a CAB file

A very nice trick posted on MSD2D about how to add "Install web part" on the context menu of the CAB files

MDC 2005: Day 1

Attended today the key note for MDC05 which is presented by Bill Gates, and the Egyptian minister of communications Mr. Tarek Kamel, Bill Gates talked about the upcoming microsoft technologies and how do they aligned with the business demands. , Mr. Tarek Kamel talked about the ministry initiatives and the ministry vision of IT development sector in Egypt.

after that i attend  a wonderful session presented by Rafal Lukawiecki, the session was about "Connect Systems", Rafal was wonderful in his presentation (as usual 😉 ) and talked about Service orientation and how did they become crucial to adopte.

then i loved to know how to "Bridge the gap between SQL 2005 development and administration" , which was a very nice session by "Kimberly L. Tripp"

and Microsoft promised to mail the materials on DVD for us after the event (wishing this happen this year).

This release of Enterprise Library includes: Caching Application Block, Configuration Application Block, Cryptography Application Block, Data Access Application Block, Exception Handling Application Block, Logging & Instrumentation Application Block, and Security Application Block.

The patterns & practices Enterprise Library is a library of Application Blocks designed to assist developers with common enterprise development challenges. Application Blocks are a type of guidance, provided as source code, that can be used as-is, extended or modified by developers for use on enterprise development projects. Enterprise Library features new and updated versions of application blocks that were previously available as stand-alone blocks. All blocks included in Enterprise Library have been updated with a particular focus on consistency, extensibility, ease of use and integration.

 

MDC: Day 0

Hay, today is day 0 for the MDC in Egypt, they are many attendees now checking in today to be able to attend Bill Gates keynote tomorrow morning.

Today, some pre-conference sessions will be held by the Egyptian Development houses and IT companies.

Microsoft seems organized the conference this year better than before, you can now take a shuttle bus from el Tahrir sqr to the conference 🙂 which make it easier for the parking reasons. , ok i’ll leave now to check in my self.

CAML query Tool

Tariq Posted his CAML query tool, which is very simple but also very useful for the sharepoint developers, this tool allows you to check your CAML queries against sharepoint lists

ASP.NET: Validation Message Box

ASP.NET provides very good controls for validating the user inputs, but the only problem that these controls shows their confirmations in a labels beside the control on as validation summary, found today on DotNetJunkies a very nice way to show your confirmation messages in a usable way.
